NOVELLO WINES

Novello Wines was born in the 60s and now for 4 generations, the Novello family produces wines in Prepotto, a land elected “cradle of wine”, continuing a story already begun by the Counts Rieppi. Passion and tradition together with hard work are the unique signature of the company.

Socrate

``If we drink with temperance and in small sips, the wine drips in our lungs like the sweetest morning dew``

We are a family winery that focuses on the connection between wine, territory, and people, so that each bottle represents not only a product, but also a place, a story, and an identity.

FAMILY HISTORY

The first generation is represented by Angelo Novello, a farmer who worked in the Mirano area, mainly growing wheat, corn, and soybeans.
The wine produced was intended exclusively for family consumption and was linked to sharing moments at the table.
In 1968, Vito Novello purchased vineyards and land from Count Rieppi in Prepotto, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, giving rise to the current winery.

With the arrival of the next generation, represented by Claudio and Giuseppe Novello, the company consolidated its production identity, adopting manual harvesting and careful selection of grapes, with the aim of preserving quality and enhancing the value of the territory.

Today, the company is looking ahead to the future, thanks to the arrival of the new generation, represented by Francesco and Pietro Novello, who are working alongside the current management to give continuity to the family business and preserve a heritage built up over time.

PRODUCTION PHILOSOPHY

Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand, allowing for the selection of grapes in two stages: the first directly in the vineyard and the second during unloading in the cellar, to ensure that only the best bunches enter the winemaking process.

It is based on an essential principle: to produce wines that reflect the territory without superstructures, through careful agricultural work and balanced vinification.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

We conduct our business with the primary objective of reducing the environmental impact of production through concrete, daily choices. Our choices are not based on certification logic, but on a responsible agricultural vision.
In the vineyard, we do not use chemical herbicides or weed killers and we limit the number of treatments as much as possible, intervening only when necessary to ensure the health of the grapes and the quality of the harvest. Soil management is geared towards preserving the balance of the soil and the surrounding agricultural ecosystem.
From an energy perspective, we use renewable energy thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels and pay particular attention to reducing the waste of resources and raw materials.
The cellar, being underground, naturally maintains a stable temperature, reducing the need for artificial cooling.
Packaging choices are also geared towards reducing environmental impact by lightening the weight of glass bottles, with the aim of reducing CO₂ emissions throughout the entire production and logistics chain.
